How it Started
How it Started
2014
Month of Modern started as an idea to celebrate the 25th anniversary of HMH Architecture + Interiors. It has since grown into something much more significant.
2017
The first of Month of Modern's powered by Pecha Kucha nights, hosted by Jay Ferracane (owner of Angry Bovine Studio and founder of “Caffeinated Mornings”), featured a lineup of eclectic and energizing speakers that perfectly embodied our 2017 theme: Design That Delights!
2018
Month of Modern's Emerging Designer Showcase spotlighted up-and-coming talents who are redefining the future of design. Attendees were wowed by fresh ideas and innovative creations!
2018
The Month of Modern Charles Haertling Home tour was a blast! 🚪🏡 We stepped into mid-century magic, exploring Haertling’s iconic designs and soaking up those retro vibes. It was a stylish stroll through history with plenty of “wow” moments! 🌟✨

The Month of Modern Tician Papachristo Home tour was a total treat! 🏠🎉 We got to dive into Papachristo’s dazzling designs and soak up all those sleek, modern vibes. It was a chic exploration that left us inspired and in awe! ✨🌟

Month of Modern's CU Student Design Award 🏆 celebrated students pushing boundaries with new technologies and materials. Todd Reed presented an award to one standout, giving them a major boost!

Month of Modern's fashion show 👗 dazzled with designs and creativity, featuring local MoM friends who rocked it as models who brought the runway to life!
2022
We joined Historic Boulder Inc. for the “Landmarks of the Future” award, celebrating buildings that capture their era's spirit and could become future landmarks. Todd Reed’s award honored a home that exemplifies these qualities.
2023 – 10 YEARS!
We rolled out the red carpet for our 10-year anniversary Wrap Party at the Boulder Theater! 🎉 It was an epic night of fun, as we celebrated a decade of unforgettable moments in style.

Month of Modern continues to scale under a NPO model with a goal of celebrating design excellence and igniting the modern conversation in Colorado.
