Design connects us to the past and shapes our future. While we admire historic landmarks, we also envision tomorrow’s landscape. That’s why Month of Modern is all about spotlighting fresh talent ready to innovate and build on the legacy of the greats.
The CU Student Design Award celebrated students in architecture, interior, landscape, and urban design who pushed boundaries with cutting-edge technologies and materials. Plus, two standout designers received a special award crafted by Todd Reed to boost their career. 🌟

Evaluation System / Jury
Entries were blind-judged by a team of established commercial and residential industry leaders from multiple disciplines such as, Interior Design, Architecture, Landscape Design and Art located throughout Boulder. The winners were announced the evening of the Awards Presentation on September 26, 2019.
Each entry for the MOM Student Design Award will be judged on how successfully the project meets the following criteria:
- statement of design intent,
- resolution of the program or idea, and
- the quality of the submittal materials (i.e., presentation graphics and composition, elements and principles of design, creativity and visual appeal
