In partnership with Historic Boulder, Month of Modern offered a one-of-a-kind House Tour experience in Boulder. Attendees saw an impressive spectrum of residential design from our talented architecture community. Featuring a mixture of project types, sizes, budget scopes, and neighborhoods, the event provided a close-up look at how architectural design can make a difference in how people live.

Saturday, September 24th, tour day arrived under sunny skies and a glorious 73-degree forecast. Ticket sales were brisk the entire day and people were excited to see the impressive mix of homes.

An enormous thank you to each homeowner who graciously opened their home to the public. It is due to their generosity that the tour was a smashing success. Month of Modern also thanks all the volunteers who helped in so many ways – we could not have done it without you and appreciate your contributing valuable time and energy to our community!

After the tour, Month of Modern commenced with a special group of invited guests at Fiori Flowers. Len Segal spoke briefly emphasizing that historic preservation and new architectural design are not in opposition to each other, but are in fact very much related, connected by an interest in architecture, history, and the future.

LANDMARK OF THE FUTURE award, designed and presented by Todd Reed, was granted to one home on the tour that best exemplifies the criteria considered when determining whether a building is worthy of being a landmark. This year’s home tour proceeds will benefit Historic Boulder.
