Modernism, Inc. follows mid-century architect and designer Eliot Noyes, whose work helped define the design language of major postwar corporations. The film also zooms out to explore how Modernism took hold in corporate America during a period of rapid growth, and how it later intersected with the cultural shifts of the Vietnam era. At its core, it is a story about design, power, and the evolving relationship between business, technology, and culture that still resonates today.
After the screening, stay for a talkback hosted by Leonard Segel, architect, preservationist, and former executive director of Historic Boulder, Inc. We will unpack the film, share perspectives, and keep the conversation going.
